My Creative Journey

My creative journey began years ago—not on paper, but in my imagination. I always had stories I wanted to tell, but I lacked confidence in my writing, so those stories remained tucked away in my imagination, waiting for the right time to be told.

Everything changed when I discovered that AI could help me refine my words and bring my ideas to life through illustrations created under my direction. For the first time, I felt that the stories I had imagined for so long could finally become reality.

Many people assume that creating a children's book with AI is quick and easy. My experience was quite the opposite. At times, it was more challenging than I ever expected. AI and I often seemed to be speaking different languages. One of the biggest hurdles was achieving consistency. Getting the characters to look like the same individuals from one scene to the next required countless revisions, careful prompting, and an incredible amount of patience. It often felt like I was introducing myself to a new version of my characters with every image.

There were many moments when I felt discouraged, and I even stepped away from the project for months. But each time I returned, I learned something new. I studied different illustration styles, experimented with prompts, refined character descriptions, and discovered how to better guide AI toward the vision I had in my mind. Little by little, the story and illustrations began to reflect what I had imagined all those years ago.

This book is not simply the result of using AI. It is the result of creativity, persistence, problem-solving, and a willingness to learn an entirely new creative process. AI became my artistic tool, but every page was shaped by my ideas, my direction, and my determination to finally bring a story that had lived in my imagination for years to life.

I hope Nico and the Singing Tabla inspires children to listen closely, discover the rhythm all around them, and reminds aspiring creators that it's never too late to tell the stories that have been waiting inside them.
